Cowboys | Anthony Spencer could return

Dallas Cowboys DE Anthony Spencer could return to the team in 2014, according to vice president Stephen Jones. ‘Anthony has been an unbelievable player for us,’ said Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, who said the Cowboys are open to bringing Spencer back. ‘Very unfortunate what happened to him last year but very productive. Obviously a guy we think a lot of. We franchised him last year, of course, injuries happen in our game. But he’s the type of player you want on your team. We got our fingers crossed and I know he does too on that his injury comes along in the proper way.’

Redskins | Won’t turn Robert Griffin into pocket passer

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said he won’t be trying to turn QB Robert Griffin III into a pocket passer next season. ‘I’m not going to try to turn RGIII into Andy Dalton or Drew Brees. He isn’t them. They’re not him. I would be foolish to try to turn RGIII into a pocket passer. It would be foolish. The way he is as a runner, we have to take advantage of that. He strikes fear into defensive coordinators when he runs outside. I’m going to let him be himself,’ Gruden said.

Cardinals | Coach says team does not need QB early in draft

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he does not think the team needs to take a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft because they have QB Carson Palmer. Arians said the team has two younger quarterbacks on the roster and does not like to have a rookie quarterback to learn while on the bench.
