Seahawks | Kam Chancellor says he’s not having surgery

Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor (hip) tweeted that he will not be undergoing surgery for a hip issue despite contradicting reports. Chancellor said his hip injury is far less severe than the one WR Percy Harvin was dealing with last season. It’s unknown how long of a recovery period Chancellor will need if he does undergo surgery, which would be a clean-up procedure.

NFL | Jermichael Finley still not cleared?

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (neck) still isn’t medically cleared to continue his playing career. Finley reportedly failed his physical with the Seattle Seahawks several weeks ago, and he’s been working regularly with trainers in Minnesota and Arizona this offseason. ‘He had a serious injury. I know there is a lot of excitement, based on what I’ve been told. I haven’t seen him work out, but I guess his workouts have gone really well. He’s in great shape. I know he feels good. The reality is this injury is going to take some time. We’ll continue to watch it,’ McCarthy said.
