Updating a previous report, New England Patriots LB Kyle Van Noy was traded by the Detroit Lions in exchange for the teams switching draft picks in the sixth and seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft, according to a source.

Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler (concussion) has proven his toughness and must try to better protect himself, according to head coach Hue Jackson. ‘I don’t want to take the fight out of him, but he also has to understand the situation he’s in,’ Jackson said. Kessler left the Browns’ Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with a concussion. ‘If you’re not playing, then we’re hurting the team,’ Jackson added. ‘I don’t think Cody was trying to do anything to hurt his football team. He was trying to do everything he could to help his team score.’

Footballguys View: A young QB is always going to try and make a play. Kessler has shown great toughness during his time as the team’s starter. Head injuries are a huge concern in the NFL today, and Kessler must do a better job of protecting himself in certain situations from taking unnecessary punishment.
