Panthers | Cam Newton begins throwing

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (shoulder) began light throwing Monday, June 26, for the first time since offseason shoulder surgery. He threw 45 passes to athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion. ‘Obviously, it’s still not 100 percent, but seeing the ball come out of my hand in a throwing motion was good. When I say it’s not 100 percent, I’m noting the range of motion part,’ Newton said. ‘Like if you sleep with your legs hanging off your bed the whole night, you’re going to wake up and be super stiff. Or like sitting on your hands, or sitting in an awkward position and finally getting up and moving – that’s how I feel.’

Giants | Davis Webb stealing reps

New York Giants QB Davis Webb made a habit of lining up behind QB Eli Manning during OTAs when Manning ran plays with the first-team offense. ‘I’ve always done that since I was in seventh grade, watching the varsity quarterback at my dad’s high school,’ Webb said at minicamp. ‘Just trying to steal reps as much as I can.’

Footballguys View: Webb was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft with the idea that he could be groomed as a potential starter in the future. He’s got the prototypical build for a quarterback (6’5″ 229 pounds) but his decision making and accuracy beyond 10 yards are real big question marks. Dynasty owners should be monitoring his progress.
