San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (shoulder, thumb, knee) is not falling behind QB Blaine Gabbert despite still rehabilitating his injuries, according to head coach Chip Kelly. ‘[Kaepernick] has a great grasp of what we’re doing,’ Kelly said. ‘I’m really impressed by both [Gabbert] and him and their intelligence and being able to pick up what we’re trying to do.’ Kelly said he hasn’t set a timetable for when the starter will be announced.
