Free-agent WR James Jones (Packers) said he would love to play for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. Jones, who played for San Jose State in college, would like to remain in the Bay Area. While his preference is to stay in the Bay Area, Jones added that he’s just ready to play and will play wherever.

Footballguys View: The 49ers have a big need at #2 wide receiver. They could still bring back Anquan Boldin or look for a winner among the current lackluster wide receiver depth chart. The eventual #2 receiver is unlikely to have fantasy relevance, but they could hurt #1 wide receiver Torrey Smith’s upside.
