The San Francisco 49ers selected Stanford OG Joshua Garnett with the 28th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft on Thursday, April 28. The Niners traded up with the Kansas City Chiefs for the pick.

Footballguys View: This was a head-scratcher, as we can’t really figure out who is going to jump up and grab a guard. Kelly has picked a long list of Pac12 guys since hitting the NFL, so this isn’t a surprise from that standpoint.
