The San Francisco 49ers may be willing to trade RB LaMichael James this offseason if they able to have another plan for their return game. James could be on the trade block because of the other running backs the team on their roster.

Footballguys View: The 49ers are stacked at the running back position. Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter, Marcus Lattimore and Anthony Dixon are all backs who can contribute. Even practice squad back Jewell Hampton is a good player. James is a change-of-pace back, and he doesn’t really fit what the 49ers want out of the position. We can’t imagine the trade offers to come flooding in for the diminutive runner.
