San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens went 25-for-36 for 343 yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 3.
Footballguys View: Mullens was efficient without the team’s #1 receiver and tight end against a Giants defense that lost Jabrill Peppers during the game. The Giants defense remains a unit to target with the Rams up next, while Mullens played well enough to give the 49ers reason to not rush Jimmy Garoppolo back with the Eagles up on Sunday night next week. Mullens looked like one of the better backups in the league – at least in this system – just as he did as an undrafted rookie two years ago.
