49ers | Phil Dawson has longest field goal for team in 15 years

The 49-yard field goal by San Francisco 49ers K Phil Dawson in the first quarter Sunday, Jan. 12 against the Carolina Panthers is the longest in franchise postseason history. Dawson eclipsed the mark set by Wade Richey on Jan. 3, 1999, against the Packers. Dawson is 6-for-6 on field-goal attempts so far in the playoffs and 38-of-42 overall this season, his first with the 49ers. Dawson, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, is in his 15th NFL season.
