Conditions weren’t quite ideal at New Mexico State’ pro day on March 5, when 14 NFL teams were present at a workout that was held outdoors at Aggie Memorial Stadium, which has a natural grass field but was really just ground and sand for the pro day. The less-than-ideal field for running hurt the times posted by wide receiver Austin Franklin, an early entry into the 2014 NFL Draft. Franklin missed the first four games of the 2013 season because of a suspension related to academics, but still managed to post 52 receptions for 670 yards and seven touchdowns for the Aggies.
