Free-agent RB Napoleon Maxwell (Bears) signed with the Chicago Bears Monday, Aug. 31. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: Maxwell was a backup in college at Florida International and initially signed with the Bears as a college free agent after the 2020 NFL draft. He was released before training camp began due to the 80-man limit on roster size. Maxwell is consistent as a runner and has a nose for the end zone but none of his traits are going to overly impress. We’ll see if he can make the practice squad.
