Chicago Bears DT Sedrick Ellis did not report to the team’s training camp and has advised the team that he plans to retire.

Footballguys View: Ellis was downright dominant during Senior Bowl week just five years ago. This is a small surprise, but Ellis wasn’t going to be essential to the Bears defensive line in any event. The Saints have been stung pretty badly by two of the bigger NFL draft busts at defensive tackle in the top 10. In addition to Ellis, who went seventh, they took mega-bust Johnathan Sullivan sixth in 2003.
