Broncos | Denver to run often

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson said it’s pretty obvious that head coach Gary Kubiak and the coaching staff will be more committed to the run this year after QB Peyton Manning retired. ‘I don’t think there’s a question what coach (Kubiak) wants to do,’ Anderson said recently. ‘All you have to do is look out there and see a fullback running around … I mean, we even drafted one. (Kubiak) wants to run the ball.’ RBs Andy Janovich and Juwan Thompson have lined up at fullback in offseason practices. Denver used a two-back set just 25 times last year, but Kubiak is intent on going to the run more often moving forward. The Broncos beefed up their offensive line by adding OTs Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson, too.
