Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders said the team’s 80-yard drive that won the Week 2 game Thursday, Sept. 17, was jumpstarted by QB Peyton Manning running the no-huddle, shotgun offense. ‘Honestly, that two minute drive he kind of turned into Peyton Manning,’ Sanders said. ‘That’s the offense that we are used to, that no-huddle offense, slinging the ball around. It felt good to get back to that. I know Peyton likes it, too. We are going to keep trying critiquing this offense, keep getting better.’
Footballguys View: Sounds like it took two weeks for Gary Kubiak to abandon plans of instituting his offense this year. This is good news for Manning, Sanderson, Demaryius Thomas, and even the running game, because while Kubiak’s running game is more productive historically, the offense will be much higher scoring with Manning’s shotgun no huddle approach re-instituted.
