Denver Broncos QB Joe Flacco (neck) might need offseason surgery to deal with the herniated disc in his neck and has said he’d be open to remaining with the team a backup, but new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said there’s much remaining up in the air with Flacco. ‘I don’t know, and I wouldn’t get into that in this setting,’ Shurmur said Thursday, Feb. 6. ‘I’m just getting to know the players, the ones that were here a year ago, and I’m not sure who’s going to be here moving forward. I think (Flacco has) had an outstanding career. I thought he did a lot of good things last year, but unfortunately he was injured and couldn’t finish the season.’
