ESPN’s quarterback evaluator Ron Jaworski believes Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden will be a solid NFL quarterback. ‘For a rookie, Weeden showed uncommon poise and calm in the pocket’ with ‘consistently solid’ mechanics, said Jaworski, who also touted the quarterback’s ability to ‘sit on his back foot and drive the ball with velocity.’ Moving from former head coach Pat Shurmur’s paint-by-numbers West Coast Offense to offensive coordinator Norv Turner’s aggressive downfield passing attack should help. Weeden is more of a gunslinger, and coach Rob Chudzinski has promised to make the most of his quarterback’s deep-ball ability.
