Cleveland Browns PK Phil Dawson is unlikely to reach a long-term agreement before the deadline for extensions Monday, July 16. He has been franchised two years in a row. Per the new collective bargaining agreement, a third franchise designation would merit a 40 percent pay hike over his $3.81 million contract this year, which would bring his 2013 salary to about $5.3 million. It’s extremely unlikely Dawson would be brought back at that rate.
