The Tampa Bay Buccaneers likely will pick up QB Jameis Winston’s fifth-year option this offseason, in the opinion of Buccaneers.com’s Scott Smith.

Footballguys View: Why would they not pick up his option? The Buccaneers have one of the few franchise QBs in the league, and they’ll get a bit more time to work out a new long-term contract with Winston. He struggled through a shoulder injury in 2017 and that impacted his stats negatively. If healthy, Winston should be in for a bounce-back season in 2018.
