Updating a previous report, the Arizona Cardinals could show interest in Kansas City Chiefs QB Matt Cassel if he is released but would also like to keep QB Kevin Kolb on the roster because head coach Bruce Arians likes him. Cassel likely would not be able to win the starting job because his struggles with deep passes would not fit the team’s new offensive system.

Our View: The new system is going to be all about deep passing. Cassel doesn’t fit that but would give the Cardinals veteran depth in case Kolb battles injuries again in 2013.
