San Diego Chargers OT Jared Gaither (back) was carted off the field during practice Thursday, July 26, and had ice on his lower back.

Our View: Gaither ended up saving the Chargers bacon at left tackle last year and they rewarded him with a new contract in the offseason. They need him to stay healthy.
