San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) will return to practice Friday, Jan. 3. He’s on the same routine as last week, according to head coach Mike McCoy.

Footballguys View: Mathews has had a great season and the has managed to stay (relatively) healthy as well. The Chargers need him this weekend against a tough Kansas City defense.
