Dallas Cowboys OT La’el Collins could be given a shot at tackle if the Cowboys re-sign impending free-agent OG Ronald Leary. ESPNDallas.com’s Todd Archer posits that the only chance Dallas may have of bringing back Leary is if he’s guaranteed to start at guard, in which case Collins could move to tackle. However, Archer added that Collins needs more time to work on his technique and footwork after playing his first professional season at guard.
Footballguys View: The Cowboys “great wall” is not only the league’s best offensive line, but it has depth to give the team options on handling Leary in free agency. Current right tackle Doug Free is in his 11th season and last year of his contract, so Collins will probably be moving to right tackle eventually anyway.
