The Dallas Cowboys could consider releasing WR Miles Austin with a June 1 designation, which would free up $5.5 million in salary cap space this offseason but would add more than $5 million in dead money in 2015.

Footballguys View: We wouldn’t be surprised to see this happen. Austin struggled with injuries this season, and he’s not the same player he used to be. If healthy, there may be a team willing to take a chance on the veteran receiver if he’s cut.
