Updating a previous story, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is expected to miss six to 10 weeks with a compression fracture of his L1 vertebra in his back. Per sources, Romo is not expected to need surgery. Head coach Jason Garrett refused to rule him out for the team’s season opener against the New York Giants on Sept. 11 and did not confirm whether or not this injury is related to the transverse process injury the oft-injured quarterback suffered in 2014.
