Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan admitted Tuesday, April 19, that he took too long at times to process offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s scheme in 2015. Ryan said he is excited to have Shanahan back for another season. ‘As you’re in a system more, you start focusing on the things that are important,’ Ryan said. ‘What you’re going against defensively, what your keys are in protection, what you’re looking for from a coverage standpoint.’ Ryan also said that he thought all the players involved in a recent passing camp felt more comfortable with the offense, adding that he could tell early on that they were a lot further along than at certain points midway through last season.
Footballguys View: We should see greater results from the Falcons offense in year two of the Shanahan offense. With a healthy Tevin Coleman and a new WR2 in Mohamed Sanu, the Falcons should be able to move the ball with more efficiency in 2016.
