The Atlanta Falcons were happy to land CB Desmond Trufant with the 22nd pick overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. They moved up eight spots in the first round to get their man, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff was more than happy to do so. ‘It’s who we had focused on all throughout the offseason,’ Dimitroff said Thursday, April 25. ‘We were fortunate because it was a very eventful middle of the first round. It was very, very, very active with a lot of trade discussions.’ Head coach Mike Smith said Trufant will compete for a starting position.
