Jaguars | Marcedes Lewis’ targets suffering

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis isn’t being used as much in the passing game in favor of keeping him in to block. He’s been targeted only once in the last two games after catching five passes for 52 yards in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. ‘You do what you have to do to win the game, whether that’s chipping a defensive end or chipping a linebacker that’s blitzing, or staying in protection,’ said backup TE Zach Potter. ‘When we’re 100 percent healthy again, and you don’t have to worry about all this (offensive line) shuffling to stay and protect, that other stuff (passes to the tight end) will start coming.’ The coaching staff appreciates Lewis’ patience while being asked to block, and they’ll be eager to use him again in the passing game when the offensive line is shored up.
