Jets | Christian Hackenberg a bad fit?

New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg is a bad fit for offensive coordinator John Morton’s West Coast-style system, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. The system is built on timing and accuracy, and Cimini spoke with an opposing scout who said he was shocked at how off target many of Hackenberg’s passes were in warmups last year.

Footballguys View: Hackenberg was not ready last year as a rookie, and that’s why he didn’t see the field as the Jets stumbled through Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty at the helm. He’s got a chance this year, but with veteran Josh McCown in town it seems like he’ll be playing second- or third-string at best.
