New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg said he feels more comfortable entering his second season in the NFL and believes he has improved since his rookie season. Hackenberg is expected to compete for the starting job during training camp.
Footballguys View: The Jets selected Hackenberg in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft, but he couldn’t do enough to see the field as a rookie. This year, Hackenberg is going to compete with Josh McCown and Bryce Petty for the starting job. He’d have to take a huge leap from year one to year two in order to win the job for Week 1. At some point, expect the Jets to take a look at him but don’t expect him to blow the doors off the league.
