ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. thinks the New York Jets could select Southern California WR Marqise Lee with the 18th overall selection in the first round of the NFL Draft. They would then look for quarterback insurance in the third and fourth rounds.
Footballguys View: This is a popular pairing in mock drafts so far and it makes a ton of sense. Lee was banged up a lot this past season, but when healthy, he has the look of the No. 1 receiver the Jets are desperate for. He’s an explosive receiver who runs solid routes, showing an ability to change direction and cut while not losing speed. He’s not afraid to fight for the ball either.
