New York Jets WR Eric Decker will receive a $7.5 million signing bonus plus guaranteed base salaries of $2.5 million in 2014. His salary cap hits will be $4 million this year, $6.5 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016, $8.75 million in 2017 and $9 million in 2018.
Footballguys View: It’s about the total we expected and is completely in line with a guy who will probably be a WR2. Consider that even if the Jets don’t add a pure WR1, they could add more WR2 and still have plenty of weapons. Even if Decker never sees the end of the deal (as players often don’t) both he and the Jets should walk away happy.
