New York Jets QB Christian Hackenberg made some strides during minicamp, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post, and Costello believes Hackenberg could beat out QB Josh McCown to be the Week 1 starter.

Footballguys View: Sounds like Hackenberg is hitting fewer reporters on the sidelines during Jets mandatory minicamp. The Jets are tanking and the best way to get into a top pick in next year’s draft is to start Hackenberg. Sam Darnold (USC) or Josh Allen (Wyoming) should get used to the idea of playing for the Jets.
