The New York Jets met privately with Southern California WR Marqise Lee before and after his pro day Wednesday, March 12, meaning the team is likely to consider drafting him 18th overall in the first round.
Footballguys View: Lee is getting mocked to the Jets quite a bit right now, since most people assume Sammy Watkins of Clemson and Mike Evans of Texas A&M will be long gone. Lee is an interesting fit, overlooked a little due to a down season with USC. A savvy, smart player who uses his acceleration and speed to find open space and then advance the ball post catch, Lee is a bit undersized at 6ft, 192 pounds and won’t break many tackles. He is very good at catching up to a ball and running underneath it, adjusting as he has to in order to make the catch and won’t hesitate to go up and get the ball. He could fit in well with Geno Smith, Eric Decker and Jeremy Kerley.
