New York Jets QB Michael Vick doesn’t think there is an open competition at quarterback and thinks QB Geno Smith is the starter.

Footballguys View: The Jets want Geno to start, Vick expects Geno to start, most fans expect the same thing-so it’s Geno Smith’s job to lose. After spending multiple picks drafting receiving threats and spending the money to grab Eric Decker, Smith is out of excuses-he needs to show a lot of progress this year. Signing Vick seemed like a “win now” move, and if Smith can’t pull that off, Vick will get the look. If you draft Smith as a backup, you run the risk of Vick taking over at some point this year. So buyer beware.
