LSU coach Thomas McGaughey is the “leading candidate” for the New York Jets’ special teams coordinator vacancy, according to a league source. McGaughey has spent three seasons as LSU’s special teams coach and defensive assistant after a four-year stint as assistant special teams coach for the Giants.
