Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah averaged 4.7 yards per carry in the second of last season, and beat writer Tim Twentyman believes Abdullah will be given the opportunity to be the lead back in 2016.
Footballguys View: “Lead back” for the Lions will still include Theo Riddick catching 70-80 passes out of the backfield and a downhill runner like Zach Zenner or Stevan Ridley handling some of the work between the tackles. Abdullah has upside as a seventh round pick, but it is still capped by the RBBC nature of his backfield.
