Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate said he is not sure if the team will use him as a punt returner, but he would like to compete for that job. Tate likely would have to compete with WR Jeremy Ross if he is given the chance for the job.

Footballguys View: If Tate is going to be a big part of the offense, then perhaps the team won’t want him returning punts. That’s something he could do from time to time. Ross is a good enough return man that the Lions don’t need to force Tate at the position.
