Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said he thinks he’ll be calling the offensive plays for the 2014 season, despite never having called a play in the NFL before. The Lions’ playbook is expected to look similar to what the New Orleans Saints have done in recent seasons. ‘You’re going to see some differences,’ Lombardi said. ‘But the playbook that we’re starting from is the Saints playbook.’ It’s unclear if Lombardi will be calling plays from the sideline or the press box, and it’ll likely depend on who the team hires as a quarterbacks coach.
