Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson (forearm), who is wearing a hard cast on his broken left forearm, is hoping to return soon. ‘I anticipate being out there pretty darn soon,’ Burleson said at Ford Field Tuesday before he received the Ed Block Courage Award. ‘Put it like this. When I get back, I’m still going to try and go after that 1,000 yards.’ His hard cast will be removed Thursday, Oct. 3, and will be replaced by a removable splint next week. Burleson said he’s already running.
