Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team is not going to change their defensive scheme to a 3-4 defense. Schwartz also said he did not see the “wide-9” defensive end alignment as a problem last year. ‘We didn’t have enough sacks this year,’ Schwartz said. ‘To be able to blame that on the Wide 9, the people that say that really don’t know what they’re talking about. Every team in league, when it’s third down, lines up exactly the way we do it. It puts guys in the best position to rush the passer.’
