University of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron will pass on the opportunity to play in the Senior Bowl. Five quarterbacks have already accepted invitations to the event.

Footballguys View: It’s never a good sign when a quarterback doesn’t want to compete. There are some exceptions, like when Matt Ryan skipped the Senior Bowl. However, Ryan was a clear-cut top 5 selection. McCarron is likely a second-round pick. The Senior Bowl would have given McCarron a chance to shed scouting questions about his arm strength.
