Updating a previous item, University of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron (shoulder, toe) decided to rest his body for the Senior Bowl at the advice of his doctors. He dealt with toe, shoulder and hamstring injuries in his senior season at Alabama. McCarron had minor surgery on his toe following the Sugar Bowl. His sore shoulder does not require surgery, but McCarron admitted he’s been fatigued since midseason. McCarron was cleared Tuesday, Jan. 21, for the first time since the Sugar Bowl. ‘My shoulder feels better than it ever has now,’ said McCarron. ‘I’ve been working on my throwing mechanics and my arm is going to be stronger than it’s ever been.’
