NFL | Brandon Cooks confident in abilities

Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks thinks he is the best receiver in this year’s draft class. ‘I feel like I’m the best receiver in this draft,’ the former Oregon State star said. ‘I feel like the only thing knocking me, in some people’s eyes, is my height (5-foot-10). Other than that, I’ve got great routes, I’m versatile and I can do a lot of things some of the guys in this class can’t. It only takes one team to believe in me and, whoever that one is, it’s getting the No. 1 receiver in this draft.’ The New York Jets are very interested in him, watching his pro game and visiting with him.

Footballguys View: Of course Cooks is confident, that’s a major asset to his game. Cooks reminds some in the scouting community of a younger version of Steve Smith (Ravens). He has the ability to play bigger than his size, he’s ferocious when fighting for the ball, and he’s dangerous after the catch. Cooks should be a late first- or early second-round pick.
