South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney said he maintained a hard work ethic throughout last season even though he only tallied three sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss in his final collegiate season. He had a team-record 13.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss the year prior. ‘I’m taking 80 snaps a game, all our snaps per game, I’m playing them all. Coaches were like, ‘Keep playing the way you play. We love the way you play.” Clowney said. He also said he played through pain caused by bone spurs in his ankle for most of the year.
Footballguys View: Clowney showed a lot of talent on tape, but the knock on him has been effort in general towards football. Some think the drop off was due to an injury which has been bothering him, while others will point to other teams scheming to take him out of the game.
