Free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell has dropped 50 pounds down to 265 pounds, the weight he carried when he made noise at the 2007 NFL Scouting Combine. There’s reportedly ‘significant interest’ in the failed prospect by more than one team, per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Russell wants to sign somewhere where he can sit on the bench and learn from a respected QB. If he can’t find a home in the next 30 to 45 days, he’d be open to signing with a team from the Canadian Football League, from where he’s also received some inquiries.
