Florida international QB James Morgan has taken part in videoconferences with ‘almost half of the league’s teams, including multiple calls with teams where he chatted with head coaches and offensive coordinators,’ according to Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline. Morgan told Pauline after the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine that the New York Jets and New England Patriots showed the most interest, while Pauline added the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ‘also in the mix.’
Footballguys View: Morgan is a late-round pick with intriguing upside due to his intelligence and physical skill set. He’s got a big arm and enough athleticism to keep a play alive. However, Morgan has ‘say it don’t spray it’ accuracy and his decision making leaves a lot to be desired. He’ll have to work as a backup to become more nuanced as a passer at the pro level.
