Free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams) didn’t show up for his second straight court appearance but was given an excused absence from a judge in Newport Beach, Calif. Young’s lawyer, Altus W. Hudson II, says that Young hasn’t appeared for his hearings in the 11-count criminal case against him because he’s still undergoing treatment for concussions related to his NFL days.
Footballguys View: Young’s NFL career is likely over, but the evidence that the defense eventually presents about how his head injuries might have contributed to his crimes will be watched closely by the NFL and thousands of players that are suing the league for allegedly hiding the known risks of concussions and rushing them back onto the field.
