Packers | Derek Sherrod makes progress

Green Bay Packers OT Derek Sherrod (leg) has made progress, and head coach Mike McCarthy was optimistic Friday, July 26. He said Sherrod looked ‘very good’ in conditioning drills Thursday, July 25, although there is still no timetable for his return. Sherrod opens camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Footballguys View: Sherrod was a first-round pick two years ago, but he has contributed little to nothing to the Packers, and it doesn’t sound like it’s a sure thing that he’ll be able to even be the team’s swing tackle in camp this year while he is still dealing with lasting issues from the broken tibia and fibula that ended his rookie year in 2011.
