Green Bay Packers impending free-agent RB Eddie Lacy’s agent, Pat Dye Jr., said he is scheduled to meet with the Packers this week but is not sure if the two sides will be able to reach an agreement before the start of free agency. Dye said he expects Lacy to sign a short-term deal this offseason, which would allow him to sign a lucrative contract in the near future if he plays well.
Footballguys View: Lacy is going to have to settle for a “prove it” deal no matter where he signs. The Packers aren’t known to work the free agent market, so keeping Lacy on a low-risk deal would make sense.
